Jack Carter

Mr. Carter was a native of Royton, England and grew up in Methuen, MA.  He had lived in Asheville since 1975 and was a son of the late Harry and Nelly King Carter. He was married to Clara McLaughlin Carter who died in 1993.

He was  a US Army veteran of WW II and was a retired secretary to the Federal Home Bank Board.  He
attended Grace Episcopal Church in Asheville.

Surviving are two sons, Jack Carter, Jr. of Portland, OR and Andrew Carter of Charlottesville, VA; a brother, Nick Carter of Derry, NH and three grandchildren.

Private services will be Wednesday, October 6, 1999.
