Irene S. Cook

IRENE S. COOK LEICESTER – Irene S. Cook, 82, of Hogeye Rd., died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Trudy Surrett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Cook, who died in 1991. Mrs. Cook was a member of Jones Valley Baptist Church. She loved to cook and garden, and loved her family. She is survived by her sons, Larry Cook and wife Maxine, of Leicester, and Benny Cook and wife Carolyn, of Leicester; grandsons Larry Cook, Jr., of Leicester, and Scott Cook, of Canton; and great-grandson, Rusty. A funeral service for Mrs. Cook will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Tom Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
