Idella Downs Randolph, 87, formerly of 91 Fairfax Avenue, Asheville, died Friday, February 7, 2003, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home.
A native of Haywood County she was a daughter of the late A.C. and Lelia Rhodes Downs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. “Randy” Randolph, who died in 1992, and was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Randolph is survived by two daughters, June R. Clark and her husband John A. Clark of Atlanta, GA and Maxella Vangorder of Burbank, CA; a son, Robert M. Randolph, II and his wife Jean C. Randolph of Swannanoa; an aunt, Isabell Barnwell of Fletcher; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Grace Baptist Church with the Revs. Gayle Brown and Richard Baird officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bon-A-Venture Cemetery in Clyde, NC.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and request that memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801.

I am very sorry to hear of your Mother’s death. My mother is Neva England Black, Max Randolph’s neice. Her Mother was May Randolph England. She has mentioned Idella to me many times. My cousin Karen (England) Houston told me of her death. You have our sympathies.
