Hugh V. Harbort

Mr. Harbort was born in Eastover, SC, and was a son of the late Arthur Scott and Mattie Hinson Harbort.  He lived in Columbia, SC for most of his life before moving to Asheville in 1995.  He was married to Catherine Gardner Harbort, who preceded him in death in 1995, and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Catherine Bolser.

He was a Navy veteran of WW II and was retired from the South Carolina Air National Guard, McEntire Air Base, SC.  While in Asheville he was a member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Catherine Linda Redmond of Asheille and Deborah Morrow of Nashville, TN; a son, the Rev. Hugh Harbort, Jr. of Americas, GA; a brother, Eddie Harbort of Eastover, SC; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Columbia, SC, with the Rev. Odell Belger officiating.
