Herbert G. Cabe, 75, died Tuesday, October 22, 2002, in Palatka, FL, after a period of declining health.
Mr. Cabe was a native of Asheville and was the son of the late Julius and Maude Jenkins Cabe. He was a former resident of Lansing, MI where he worked for Kwast Bakery for 30 years before retiring to Interlachen, Fla., nine years ago. He was a veteran of WW II and the Korean conflict.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Mitchell Cabe; one son David and his wife Nan of Lansing, MI; his sister Helen Cabe Pressley and her husband Willie of Fairview; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren of Lansing.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will be at Cane Creek Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at the
funeral home.

I can never begin to imagine the great loss that you must be feeling right now. But you were truly blessed to have spent so many years with Herb. Live is short and precious but the thing that makes it all worth it is to have someone that we truly love in our lives, someone to share in the good times and the bad. The girls and I will keep you in our prayers. If you should ever need anything please let us know.
