Helen Crowder Quakenbush, 91, of Asheville, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018.
A native of Madison Co., Helen was a daughter of the late Herman and Effie Fox Crowder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rex Gerald Quakenbush; her sisters, Alma Williams (Jack), Ava Langford (Harold), Leota Brown (Mark), Wilma Crowder, and Glennis Rice (Paul); brothers, Roy Crowder (Margaret) and Walter Crowder; and brothers-in-law, Bill Edmonds and Gene Laws.
Mrs. Quakenbush was active in the CarePartners PACE program and was a long-time member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Rexanna and husband Chris Ogle; sisters, Ruth Edmonds and Ora Mae Laws; granddaughter, Kylie Ogle; special family members, Ronnie and Carolyn Ogle; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Quakenbush will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at New Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Garry Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

I am very sorry to hear about your mom. I know you guys were really close. I know she kept her faith to the end and she’s in heaven rejoicing with the family that has gone on before. I know it’s not easy for those of us left behind but she will always be with you. Thoughts and prayers to you and the rest of the family.
