Hazel Shelton Anders

Hazel Shelton Anders, of Leicester, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017. A native of Buncombe Co., Hazel was a daughter of the late Ben and Lilly Rector Shelton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Oder R. Anders; sisters, Magdeline Candler, Cumi Meadows, and Mary Lee Sluder; and brothers, Clarence, Hubert, Wade, Clyde, Ed, Monroe, and Ellis Shelton. Mrs. Anders was a member of Jupiter Baptist Church. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including: Hattie Lee Rockett, Amanda Maynor (Joe), Sandra Rollins (Ryan), Ginger Gregg (Charles) and Kenny Rockett (Cinnamon). The graveside service for Mrs. Anders will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lewis Maynor officiating. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
