Grady William Brock, 67, died Saturday, October 10, 1998, in an Asheville
hospital.
Mr. Brock was born in Enka and was a son of Elsie Mae Massie
Brock of Candler and the late Andy J. Brock. He was a graduate of
Candler High School and was retired after 20 years in the Navy. After that
he worked for the City of Jacksonville, NC, and more recently lived in
Birmingham, AL.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Virginia Speegle
Brock; a son, Michael David Brock of Birmingham; a sister, Helen Massie
of Candler; a brother, Warren G. Brock of Candler; three stepsons, Leslie
G. Bullock, Douglas Bullock, and Andy Bullock; six grandchildren and
one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Forest Lawn
Memorial Park with the Rev. John Erwin officiating.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Monday at Groce
Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of Warren G. Brock,
341 Beaverdam Loop, Candler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart
Association.
