Grace Young Miller Hornowski
January 22, 1926 ~ August 5, 2000

A native of Asheville, she was the daughter of the late Della Ward Young and Robert Finley Young and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Col. Paul H. Miller, U.S. Army, who died in 1967 and Dr. M.J. Hornowski, who died in 1974.
She was a graduate of Woodfin High School and Brevard College and was a former secretary at Moore General Hospital, the Pentagon and the Buncombe County Board of Elections, but more importantly, she was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Hornowski is survived by two daughters, Debbie Miller, and her husband Steve, of Asheville, Jane Adkins, and her husband Bob, of Hudson, Ohio; two sons, Greg Miller, and his wife Nancy, of Biloxi, Mississippi, Jim Fogle-Miller, and his wife Beth, of Winter Haven, Florida; six grandchildren, Stephanie and Michelle Miller, Paul and Matt Adkins, Carlene Fogle-Miller and Matthew Bowling; a sister, Gertrude McMahan of Asheville and three brothers, Robert Young of Charlotte, Perry Young of Chapel Hill and Roy Young of Mocksville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. David Blackmon.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery with her first husband.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
Memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
