Gloria Jean Edwards, 65, of 455 Victoria Rd., Asheville, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001 in a local
hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow Edwards Sr., and Leneta
Sanders Edwards.
In her 65 years, Gloria touched many peoples lives. If you ever met her, you would go away blessed. Gloria loved people and was a happy person with a sparkle in her eye and a smile on her face. Although in this life she couldn’t walk or talk she lived a full life. We will miss her very much, but today she is truly happy and pain
free.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Gerald Sprinkle of Candler and her brother and sister-in-law, Woodrow and Suzi
Edwards of Asheville.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Revs.
Charles and Gerald Sprinkle will officiate with burial following in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mother and I are thinking of you and forever remembering Gloria sitting on your Grandparent’s porch while the neighborhood children played in the street in front of their house.

Dear Nancy, I worked with Gloria many years ago when she was at Biltmore Manor. I truly believe she was one of God’s angels because she was always smiling and brightened every day I worked with her. I have thought of her often during the years and remember her as being such a bright spot in my life. I am sure she is dancing down those golden streets and talking to Jesus right now. She could always talk to Him here but we couldn’t understand her and in heaven she’ll be talking to us. She was such a beautiful person. I will never forget her. Sincerely

I shall always remember Gloria since I was her Social Worker for many years it is a great loss to me also. I miss walking down the hall and speaking to her. You are right she touched everyone who knew her. May God comfort you in the time of need.
