Gladys Gregory Moore

Gladys Gregory Moore, 88, formerly of Buncombe County, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at her home in Knoxville, TN. Mrs. Moore was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Willard and Anna Dalton Gregory. She was married to Garland J. Moore, who died in 1999, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Moore, and by two brothers, Wayne and Paul Gregory. Mrs. Moore was retired from Sayles Biltmore Bleacheries and was a volunteer at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Allman and her husband, Steve, of Knoxville; two granddaughters, LaDonna Riner and husband Chris and Kimberly Yarber-Teague and husband, Stephen; three great-grandchildren, Chris Allman, Justin Yarber and Hannah Teague; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alena and Brentson Yarber; four sisters, Evelyn Thorpe, Edith Hogan, Atlas Anderson and Alice (Mike) Rothenberg; and two brothers, Talmadge and Melvin (Rhoda) Gregory. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fairview, with the Revs. Jim Whitted and Michael Sluder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 455 Hollywood Road, Fairview, NC 28730.
