Gerald Victor Gibson, 77, of Arden, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at his residence.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Victor Joseph Gibson and Mary Ada Hall Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was the President of Gibson Pest Control. He was also an avid golfer and loved being a Grandpa.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane Felton Gibson; six children, Mark Gibson, Laurie Smith, Jeffrey Gibson, Sandy Cox, Gregory Gibson and Savannah Dalton; one sister, Judy Wabberson; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3401 Sweeten Creek Road, Arden, NC 28704. Interment will follow at Calvary Churchyard.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 31 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road.

I am so sorry in the loss of Mr. Gibson. My Thoughts and Prayers are with the family, especially Sandy and Jennifer who are so dear to me. Heavens gain but society has lost a good man.
I was so sorry to read about Gerry. I know how much every one loved him. I hope Diane is doing well, I know this is a hard time for all the family. I know Laurie is heart broken. She loved her dad so much. So sorry for the whole family.
