Geneva King Reemes

Geneva Letha King Reemes, 92, of 47 Surrett Road, Leicester, died Sunday, March 21, 2004. Mrs. Reemes was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Talbert T. and Maebell Surrett King. She was a member of Ebeneezer Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener and a caregiver for the elderly for 20 years. She also served as a caregiver for anyone who needed her. Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Ann Surrett and her husband Reed of Marshall and Sue Surrett and her husband Ted of Leicester; one son Robert Junior Reemes of Marshall; three sisters, Julie Hollifield of Asheville, Phoeb Brown of Marshall and Ruby Howey of Michigan; one brother Jessie King and his wife Bashie of Leicester; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, four sisters, one brother and a daughter-in-law. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Grady Freeman officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
