Gail Rodgers Corbin, 82, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Gail dedicated 34 years of her life to nursing, a profession she cherished and one through which she touched countless lives with her compassion, skill, and gentle heart. Caring for others was more than a career—it was her calling.

Above all else, Gail loved her family. She was a devoted mother who adored her three children and found great joy in spending time with them. She was also a proud grandmother to two grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her life.

Gail was born to Frank and Nellie Rodgers, whose love and values helped shape the remarkable woman she became. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frank and Nellie Rodgers; her beloved husband, Ray Corbin, who passed away December of 2009; her sister, Sandra Bowers; and her brother, Frank Walter Rodgers, Jr.

Gail will be remembered for her intelligence, strength, kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for those closest to her. Through both the joyful seasons and the difficult ones, she remained deeply devoted to her family.

She is survived by her three loving children, Alicia, Craig, and Walter, and their families; her two beloved grandchildren, Kyle and Hunter; extended family; and many relatives, neighbors, and lifelong friends in Robbinsville and Asheville, North Carolina, where she shared countless treasured memories.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Gail’s love, wisdom, and caring spirit will continue to live on in this the lives she touched. Her legacy of compassion and selfless service will never be forgotten.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who cared for Gail throughout her illness and to the many friends and loved ones who have offered prayers, support, home cooked food and kindness during this difficult time.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 3:00 until 3:45 PM on Saturday, August 8 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, followed by a 4:00 PM graveside service at Averys Creek Christian Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Please contact the family for service information.
