Fred David Brendell, Sr.

He was the son of the late Robert D. and Amy Ledford Brendell. He was born in Macon County and had resided in Buncombe County for the last 70 years. He retired from American Enka Company in 1972 after 43 years of service. He was a member of Hominy Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Allie Chambers Brendell; sons, Fred D. Brendell Jr. and his wife Kitty of Waynesville, John L. Brendell and his wife Joyce of Candler, Owen E. Brendell and his wife Cheryl of Hendersonville; and daughter Mary Brendell Clevinger of Candler; seven grandchildren, David, Janna, Brad, Billy, Stephanie, Thomas and Tammy; one great grandson benjamin; sisters, Mattie Founts and Maude Hopkins both of Franklin; and several neices and nephews.

Fnueral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday at Hominy Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Joe Yelton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 7-9:00 pm Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue where the body will remain until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
