Frank J. Gregg

Frank Junior Gregg, 87, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

A native of Buncombe Co., Frank was a son of the late James and Vever King Gregg. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret King, Edith Meece, and Betty Lou Gregg.

Frank worked as a carpenter for many years, and built many of the round home “rondettes” in the area. In his spare time, he loved finding deals at flea markets and yard sales. He also loved fishing, and when his health allowed, he loved raising cattle.

He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Kathleen Treadway Gregg; sons, Frank Gregg, Andy Gregg (Pam), and Kenny Gregg; sister, Ellen Shook; brothers, Jimmy Gregg (Joyce), Johnny Gregg, and Dale Gregg (Mary Ann); six grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

His family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Lewis will officiate. Entombment will then take place at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
