F. Boone Williamson, 93, of 22 Gudger Road, Candler, died Thursday, November 11, 2004, at Aston Park Health Care Center. Mr. Williamson was born in Haywood County and was a son of the late Lee and Maggie Chambers Williamson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hamlett and brothers, Jack, John and Lewis Williamson. Retired from American Enka Corporation after 46 years of service, he was a member of Enka Baptist Church for 58 years where he had served as Deacon and Treasurer. He was a member of the Enka Volunteer Fire Department, an avid camper and trout fisherman, belonged to three bowling leagues, was a member of the Horse and Hound Club and enjoyed planting his vegetable garden each spring. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Cannon Williamson; two step-daughters Betty Mashburn and her husband Norman of Hendersonville and Marie Turner of Beaumont, TX; a sister, Sue South of Hampstead, NC; two brothers James Williamson of Waynesville and Walker Williamson of Elmer, NJ; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and his favorite pet, Penny. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Enka Baptist Church, PO Box 219, Enka, NC 28728.
