Evelyn Parham Ray

Evelyn Parham Ray, 86, of Asheville, died on Friday, January 20, 2012, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Ray was a daughter of the late Floyd and Leona Hunter Parham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ray, who died in 1994. Mrs. Ray is survived by her sisters, Margaret Parker, and Nell McDade, both of Asheville. A funeral service for Mrs. Ray will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Don N. Welborn officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
