Mamaw,
What wonderful memories I have to cherish in my heart. I have been sitting and remembering… You were always such a beautiful woman, I remember the head bands you wore when I was little, sitting on the back porch you playing the guitar and singing, ‘I am going down the road feeling fine’, how you would let me play ‘office’ in the camper and bring me my lunch on a tray because you were the secetary. The croquet set, the footstool with all our toys in it, you teaching me to iron Grandaddy’s hankies. So many memories I cant even list. Thank You from the bottom of my heart! Thank you so much for my Daddy, what a wonderful man you brought into this world. He has instilled in me a deep value and love for family,he raised Vonda, Jay and I to love each other and hold each other close in our hearts. I am so glad for your love and faith in Jesus, for you to be reunited with Grandaddy and all your family. There is much love in me for you and I thank you! You will remain forever in my heart!
Love you forever,
Chanda Fay
To the family of Elsie Propest:
Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. We know Elsie is at peace in her new heavenly home …. but she will truly be missed.
To Miss Elsie’s Family-
Elsie was our neighbor for over 25 years. I have such fond memories of her throughout my childhood. When my Momma passed away Elsie really ‘looked after’ my Daddy. They were special friends and we all loved her so much! I was glad Sadie Jo and I got to spend some time with her over Christmas. She always had a warm smile to greet anyone she encountered. I smile thinking about her reuniting with her husband and my Momma! What a reunion in Heaven! Our hearts break because we will miss her so much, but I know that God has called his beautiful Angel home for good! Prayers for everyone during this difficult time.

Elsie was one of the sweetest, kindest persons; a devoted sister to Irene and Mother to Linda, the other members of the family that I knew. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Elsie always had such a special way about her and was such a beautiful lady inside and out. She was a speical Mamaw to my children,Vonda,Chanda, and Jay. They loved going to the farm when they were growing up. She always took the time with them. I know they all have a special memory of the things they did as they grew up. My thoughts and prayers are with my children as well as with their Dad and their Aunt Linda. Its good to know she will be with Jr. and all her preicous family that has already gone to be with Jesus. My memories of her pretty smile and how she had the expressions on her beautiful face will always be remembered and be in my heart. Thanks Elsie for all you did for my children and all the times you kept them and for being their Mamaw.
With heart felt sympathy for the family. I have always loved your mother, she was such a special lady.

Linda, We sure loved your Mom and Dad. Your Mom was a great friend and will be missed.
I know that God has brought another of His sweet angels home to hold them close to His side.
Elsie and James were always such a joy to run into somewhere, they were the kind of people that you just wanted to stand there for hours and enjoy their presence.
I guess Elsie was one of those people that God would allow to touch your life, to give you a taste of His kindness and joy, that always flowed through her.
I know that all who are left here to abide behind will miss her. But I know that Heaven is a little bit sweeter now, having her joyful, loving, personality there.
And I’m sure we could never imagine the smile that came upon her face when she realized that she was there with Jesus our Lord whom I know that she has held a great love for in her heart.
And then to be able to reach out and embrace so many of her loved ones that went on home before her.
We love and miss you Elsie, but some day we will see you again, and sit down and talk for a thousand years or so.
With Love and Prayers for all of your friends, and especially to your family, may God comfort and bless each, with the simple knowledge that you are not gone away forever but have just joined so many others waiting for the day we cross over to join you in our new home.
Love, Tommy Propest and Family
Mamaw,
I have so many precious memories that I will always hold dear… I know how lucky I am to have had you in my life. I remember thinking as a child how special your smile was, because it was a smile with your eyes and your whole face. How special it made me feel, and then realizing as I got older that it wasn’t just me, it made everyone feel that way. Your beautiful smile taught us that you can make anyone feel so special by just sharing one. I always hoped that one day I would be as beautiful as you…You lit up every room you walked in.
I will cherish all the times I spent with you and grandaddy. I don’t know how you ever got everything done when Chanda, Jay or I was with you, because it seemed like you spent every minute playing with us. I loved the treasure box that you fixed for me, full of beautiful necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and beads, how every time I came there would be something ‘new’ in it for me. Then we would play dress up, always having a different hat to top it off. I loved playing house in the camper, and you would bring us a sandwich for lunch for you and I to eat. I can still see you standing at the bottom of that cherry tree, holding my bucket, while I picked (and eat) those yummy big cherries. I loved spending the night with you, playing all day, dress-up, house in the camper, over in the barn and wading in the creek. I can still hear you saying, “let’s go get us a cool drink, you can have the ‘birdie’ glass’. I remember being so tired from just playing and loving when it was bath time because you would run me a warm bath in your BIG bathtub, full of bubbles and how good it felt when you washed my back, shampooed my hair, and then wrapped that big towel around me that smelled “like Mamaw” and dried me off. (I was so thrilled when I grew up and discovered your brand of fabric softener, so all my laundry could smell “like Mamaw!) I loved the snack you would always bring Grandaddy and I on the couch at night while we watched TV.. and how you rubbed and patted my back with those beautiful long fingers and hands. There is no other pumpkin bread that can match yours. What a lucky little girl I was to have had you. Thank you for loving all three of us, and helping to make our childhood so special. How precious it is that my son shares very similar memories of you, Sachel loved how you would get out in the yard and play ball with him, giggle and cheer when he would “hit a home run”, and your hugs made him feel so good.
I know you are singing with the angels and so happy to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I’m just so thankful that God chose us to share such a special angel and gave Chanda, Jay and I the privilege of having you as our grandmother. Thank you for raising my daddy to be the kind of man that always has put his family first, he’s never left any doubt that he loved us more than anything else in the world. He’s made sure that Chanda, Jay and I would always have each other to rely on, comfort and love one another.
I can only imagine the joy Grandaddy and all the others who have gone on are feeling right now, to have you once again. Our comfort is knowing that one day we will all be together again. Thank you for always sharing your faith with us, your love for the Lord was apparent to anyone’s path you crossed.
I will always cherish your love and hold the precious memories that I have dear, and close in my heart.
I will miss your sweet messages that you would leave that sounded like you were writing a letter, ending with.. “ and you be sweet and I Love You ….Mamaw Propest”
“TOODLEY DOO” my precious Mamaw, until we are all reunited in heaven.. I will always love you.
Much Love Always
Vonda Lee

‘…..the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day….’
This is so true of Elsie. She was a lovely person with a big heart. Once her friend, always her friend.
I have known the entire Guy Family since my childhood and attending school with some. Leslie and I were in the same grade. I have found all of this family to be good, caring, loving people. May God fill your hearts with His love, grace, and mercy, giving you strength, peace and comfort in the months ahead. You already know that everyone loved your Sister/Mom/Mawmaw Propest. Linda, George & I are sending our Love, sympathy & prayers to you and your family. You know how very special James & Elsie were to us. She had the sweetest, kindest heart we have even known, and her sincere Love for others and God was so very evident. We had so much fun riding in our Model A’s, and she and I would sing every song we knew on our radios in the old cars, especially ‘You Are My Sunshine’ Elsie was a brilliant ray of sunshine to everyone she met.
God bless you, and give you peace, love and comfort. We Love you, George & Melba Williams
Tonya, Chanda & Jay and families, ‘May God Bless you all. Precious ‘Aunt Elsie loved you all so dearly. Her eyes would glow and her precious Smile just to mention your names. She was so proud. The Love you showed her was so Wonderful. Our prayers and thoughts are with each one and we love each one of you so dearly.. Aileen and Neil
Elsie was such a blessing in our lives while Marie was alive. She was always willing to ‘drive Miss Daisy’ anywhere she needed to go. We are sorry for your unexpected loss. We’ll miss that smile and her all of her hugs (and her prune cake)!!
Oh I will so miss you sweet smile and hug. You always came into Lowes to see your ‘pride and joy’ and your other girls, and would bring us candy, or just a sweet hello. You are a precious lady, and you were loved by so many. I will see you again one day, in our Heavenly home…till then, know you will be in my heart. Love you so much.
Linda, Dale, Irene, Elsie was always such a blessing to me! I will miss her hugs and her kind words! You all are in my prayers!
Linda & Dale, Irene, Gary & Family,
We are so upset and sorry at the death of Elsie, our beautiful, sweet and faithful friend. We know she is in Heaven with Jesus and that we shall see her again. We praise God for her life and are praying for comfort for you at this very hurtful time.
Please know that we would have been present at the funeral but for the slick roads. We regret that we could not be there for you.
Love and Prayers Always,
Mrs.Propest was a special lady and neighbor that always slowed to wave or stopped to share words as she passed our home. We are saddened at hearing of her passing. We also apologize that we were not able to share time with her family during her funeral.Paula the girls and I will miss this grand lady and dear neighbor.
