Elizabeth “Lib” Fragge Belz, 94, formerly of School Road in Malvern Hills, Asheville, died Sunday, January 13, 2002, at a hospital in Lawrenceville, Ga, after a short illness.
A native of Covington, KY, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Veronica Johannemann Fragge. She was a lifelong resident of Asheville was also preceded in death by her husband William A. Belz who died in 1986. She worked as a secretary to the manager of the Bank of Asheville and also of the Asheville Country Club. She was a member of the Chatmore Club, the Catholic Daughters of America Court 412 and the Malvern Hills Community Club. She and her husband were Duplicate Bridge directors, members of the ACRL and owners of Skyland Bridge Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Buckner and her husband Jim of Suwanee, GA and two grandsons, Mark Buckner of Dalton, GA and Jason Buckner of San Francisco, CA.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am Wednesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic church, where she was a charter member. Fr. John M. Pagel will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home after which the family will receive friends.

I have many fond memories of your mother from our school days and many more from her many bridge parties with Ray’s mother. ‘Our’ mothers sat together at the Saturday Evening Mass for along time.
