Edison D. Morgan, 86, of 2525 Old Toxaway Road, Brevard, formerly of Mills River, died Sunday, October 7, 2007, at his home. Mr. Morgan was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Harry Mitchell and Blanche Plemmons Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Riddle Morgan, who died in 2002, and by a sister, Maletia Young. Mr. Morgan served in the US Army during WW II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a self employed trucker in the dairy industry and he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Larry Morgan of Brevard, Gary Morgan and his wife, Kathy, of Mills River, and Ricky Morgan and his wife, Jeanne of Leicester; five grandchildren, Dusty Morgan, Audra Cutshaw, Kelly Lindsey, Vicky Lynn Morgan, and Brandon Morgan; four great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Porter Morgan and his wife, Wilma, of Asheville, and Max Morgan and his wife, Ruth, Don Morgan and his wife, Arlene, and Dale Morgan and his wife, Joyce, all of Leicester. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Brick Church Cemetery, Leicester. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
