Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Jerry’s daughter, Heather, is one of my closest friends. I remember Jerry being a loving dad, husband, and grandfather. He loved playing with his grandsons. I remember his willingness to participate in community service. I specifically remember how he helped Peggy cook and serve dinner, several times, at a shelter for women and children, and he did it cheerfully. He will be missed and remembered fondly as a man who made the world a better and happier place.

  2. I first met Mr. Staton when he visited with Heather at work. He always had a smile for everyone there; and on more than one occasion generously presented me with gifts of the largest aquarium fish I have ever seen!!

The last time I spoke with Mr. Staton, he had Greyson Franklin in his arms. Both grandfather and grandson had the widest smiles; obviously thrilled to be together for the day, and waving bye-bye to Heather and I.

  3. We will truly miss Jerry. He added so much to the Buncombe County Tax Collections. He continued to come by after he retired to see if everyone was doing ok. He always put his heart and soul into what ever he did. I hear comments from fellow employees often about his dedication to his work and family. God bless each of you.
