Dorothy “Dot” Faye Elingburg, of Arden, passed away on
October 25, 2026. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love and is
now resting in the presence of the Lord.
Dot was the daughter of the late Enda and Virgil Calloway. She
Was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Elingburg; her beloved
children, Jerry Jenkins and Jane Banks; her brother, Roy Calloway;
and her sister, Evelyn McIntosh, and brother-in-law, Bill McIntosh. She
is survived by her son-in-law, Jerry Banks, along with her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. Being a mother and grandmother brought Dot great joy.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. A devoted member of
Biltmore Church since 1986, Dot faithfully served as a greeter, choir
member, and participant in the Ladies Connect group. She especially
valued her prayer group and the friendships strengthened through
their shared faith. Reading her Bible and serving the Lord brought her
comfort and purpose throughout her life.
Dot attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville and
devoted years to working in education and administration, including
positions with the Board of Education and Carolina Day School. She
later retired from Belk.
Dot’s life was a testament to faith, independence, and love. She
will be remembered for her devotion to the Lord, her strength of
character, and the special moments she shared with those closest to
her. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories of her life and
the love she gave will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew
her.
