Dorothy Coe Bishop

Mrs. Bishop was born in Surry County, was a daughter of the late John William and Ann Rebecca Mayes Coe, and was married to the late Charles H. Bishop.  She was an ordained minister and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle.

She is survived by three daughters, Glenda Claudette Varnum, Catherine June Capps, and Sandra Kay Strong;  two sons, Doug Bishop and Charles Bishop, Jr.;  three sisters, Betsy Grissett, Mary Andrews and Maude Custer;  a brother, John S. Coe;  18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Boyd McLarren officiating.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 9:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
