Dorothy C. Frady

Arden - Dorothy C. Frady, 75, of 310 Watson Road, died Friday, January 21, 2000. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Myrtle Pressley Clontz and widow of the late Grover B. Frady, who died in 1990. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, James Michael Funderud and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Funderud. Mrs. Frady was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a retired employee of the American Enka Corp. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Jamison and her husband, Ronald of Charlotte; son, Benny Frady and his wife Carolyn of Arden; three sisters, Myrtle Lee Gosnell of Arden, Peggy Smith and Tommy Ann Sluder of Asheville; a brother, Jack Clontz of Arden; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church conducted by the Revs. Cecil Robinson and Jimmy Blackwell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian and at other times will be at the home of the son.
