Asheville Butterfly TrailMrs. Brookshire was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late George Washington Brookshire and Arta King Brookshire.
She is survived by a dear friend, James Robertson; four daughters, Susan Lindsey of Weaverville, Faye Revis and Tracy Willis of Asheville, and Sherrill Brookshire of Florence, SC; two sons, Bobby Willis of Arden and Danny Willis of Candler; two sisters, Lucille Gunter and Ruby Shaft of Asheville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Vince Keith officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
