Dixie Anderson Barkdoll, 70, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018, at St. Joseph Campus, Mission Hospital. Born August 11, 1948, in Syosset, NY, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Ruby Anderson. She had lived in the Asheville area since the mid 1980’s and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family and she also had served as a moderator for a cable tv call-in talk show. Her family include her husband, Kenneth O. Barkdoll; daughters, Jennifer, Debora, Kerry, Tammy and Jennifer; sons, Kenton and Rich; sister, Penny Carriere (Ed); brother, John G. Anderson (Janette); grandchildren, Sara, Taylor, Trent, Kyra, Riley, Christopher, Victoria, Chloe, Benjamin, Kenny, Andrew, Haidenn, Lexus, Brittany, Jourdan and Jacob; and niece and nephews, Michelle, Jeffery and Johnny. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Chaplains Pat Stillwell and Butch Stillwell officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
