Curtis W. Goforth

Rev. Goforth was a native of Madison COunty and was a son of the late John Nathan and Laura Emaline Johnson Goforth.  He had lived in Buncombe County for 24 years, was a minister with the Church of God for 55 years, and had pastord churches in Candler and Concord, NC, Chase, MD, Seaford, DE, Waynesburg, PA, Lawrence, IN, and Bristol, VA.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sarah Lunsford Goforth;  a son and daughter-in-law, William and Christine Goforth of Cherokee;  a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Salvatore Crisafulli of  Baltimore, MD;  four granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Stoy A. Lankford officiating.  Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 7 - 9 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
