Clarence Hall Davis, 85, of 87 Nevada Avenue, Asheville, went home to be with Jesus and his wife Helen Davis on Friday, October 8, 1999
following a long illness.

A lifelong resident of Asheville, he was the son of the late Charles Hall Davis and Mary Cleta Taylor Davis both of Asheville.

He entered the US Army during World War II and served in the Pacific campaign. After the war he worked for National Linen Service as a
superintendent and later was a salesman for both Bon Ton Linen Co. and Swannanoa Laundry.

He loved to fish and play golf. He won the Senior Golf Tournament at the Municipal Golf Course in 1994 at the age of 82. He was an avid Braves
Baseball fan and wanted to see them win the World Series this year. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Jeanette Thompson of Hollywood,
MD; sons Raymond O. Davis Sr. and Michael A. Davis, both of Asheville; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Reverend Philip Thompson and John Odom officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills
Cemetery.

The family will receive friends
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
