Charles Carroll Luther, 76, of 72 Herron Avenue, Asheville, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Luther was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Othel and Bertie McKinnish Luther. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Ellen Luther Jarrett, who died March 25, 2000, and by two brothers, Herman Luther and Maurice Luther. He was an Army veteran who served in Germany during the Korean War.
Mr. Luther worked at American Enka for more than 40 years. He was a member of the West Asheville Lions Club and of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Fletcher Luther and by a son-in-law, Keith Jarrett and wife Susan, of Arden.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Oak Forest Presbyterian Church, 880 Sand Hill Road, Asheville, NC 28806 (667-1067) with the Rev. Timothy W. Meredith officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.
His family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the home.
Memorials in honor of his daughter, Dana Jarrett, may be made to Eblen Charities, 12 Regent Park Boulevard, Asheville, NC 28806.

Uncle Carroll was such a wonderful man, our hearts and thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
Mary Lynn-A frined sent me the announcement. I am so sorry. I had no idea he was worse-I had just sent you some E-mail stuff then found this one-it was a shock. I will be remembering you in prayer and will be in contact. We go back a long time and I am glad that we reconnected.
