Catherine Fox Middleton

Catherine Fox Middleton, 84, of 22 Grandma's Path, Candler, died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Hospice Solace Center. A Buncombe Co. native, Mrs. Middleton was daughter of the late William Arthur and Sallie Gentry Fox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William F. Middleton, her daughter, Mary R. Middleton, and two sons, Roy L. Edwards and John R. Pace. Mrs. Middleton retired from Craddock Terry Shoe Company. Mrs. Middleton is survived by two daughters, Doris Henry, of Asheville, and Brenda Kuhns, of Navaree, OH; four sons, Richard Alan Middleton, of Buffalo Junction, VA, James C. Sherlin, of Candler, and Thomas L. Sherlin, of Gretna, LA, and J. William Middleton, of Candler; four sisters, Donna Mae Bruce, of Swannanoa, Mary Calloway, of Weaverville, Bessie Ramsey, and Betty Anderson, both of Mars Hill; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Avenue. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Doris Henry at 97 Vermont Avenue.
