Betty Jean Bishop Wahl, 74, died Thursday, October 6, 2005, in a Venice, FL hospital.
Mrs. Wahl was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Connor Bishop.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Wahl; two sons, Mike Broadway of North Port, FL and Gene Broadway of Austell, GA; four grandchildren; and three sisters Elizabeth Searcy of Fairview, Irene Fite of Asheville and Haleen Warren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Bane officiating.
Burial will be at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and suggest that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Building One, Asheville, NC 28801.

May God strengthen you in this loss. On family genealogy, my father was Willie Conner from Rutherford Co. (Lake Lure) and my paternal grandmother was Molinda Fite Conner. She, a brother Harvey Fite lived in Rutherford Co. prior to their deaths. Grandma Molinda had relatives in the Edneyville/Fairview area.
