BERYL W. MANN
Beryl W. Mann, 86, formerly of Chester Place, Malvern Hills, Asheville, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.
Mrs. Mann was born in the Republic of South Africa and served in the South African Air Force. It was while in the military service that she met G.P. Mann who was serving in the US Army Air Corps. They married in Cairo, Eqypt in 1944. Mr. Mann died in Asheville August 10, 2005.
Mrs. Mann was a former member of St. George’s Episcopal Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Whittemore of Asheville; one son, George Mann and his wife, Susan, of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.

Margaret and George, I still have memories of our times in Brazil. Think of you often. Sorry to hear about your mother. My prayers are with you. Mother and Daddy are both gone now and it is sad. Take care.

My parents, James and Margaret Hutchison told me of your mother’s death when I called them tonight. So sorry to hear of this. It has been many years since we were together in Asheville, Troop 3, BSA, etc.
Those were the good old days. I really miss the Asheville area, but have not lived there in over 30 years.
Please know that old friends care and share in your loss. May God comfort you and yours at this time.
