BARBARA JEAN KARNS Barbara Jean Karns, 49, of 48 Laurel Cove Road, Leicester, died Sunday, December 24, 2000. Mrs. Karns was born in Columbus, MS. She was an employee of Day International and formerly worked at Quaker Oats in Arden. She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Turner of Leicester; one son, Jerry Wayne Nelson, Jr. of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Dylan, Jerrica, and Madelyn Nelson; her mother, Virginia Lee Morgan of Leicester; her father, Robert Earl Hagood of California; four sisters, Virginia Camacho, Deb Ingle and Cheryl Smith of Leicester and Darlene Watson of Mobile, AL; and one brother, Bobby Hagood of Mobile, AL. A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Duckworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, PO Box 19444, Charlotte, NC 28219.
