Anne S. McGuire

Mrs. McGuire was born in Thomasville, NC, and was a
daughter of the late Albert and Willie Harris Shuford.  She was a 1953 graduate of Duke University and taught schools at Spray-Draper
and Burlington, NC, Savannah, GA, and Sewannee, TN, before coming to Asheville in 1967.  She formerly worked as a patient coordinator in
the Memorial Mission Hospital Emergency Room.

Mrs. McGuire took an active part in assisting her husband throughout his ministerial career in the Episcopal Church.  She was a
member of St. Giles Chapel, Deerfield.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Victor V.
McGuire, Jr.;  a daughter, Martha McGuire Hicks of Asheville, and a sister, Patsy Newby of Salisbury.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday in the Courtyard of Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community with the Revs. Gary Farmer, Harry Wogan and Tim McCrea officiating.  Burial will be at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.

Her family will receive friends at Deerfield  immediately following the committal service.
