Anna O’Connor Nichols, 82, of 52 Arlington Street, Asheville, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Nichols was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Jacob Sidney and Lula Ellen Edwards O’Connor. She was retired after 40 years with the US Forestry Service and was a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Drew Christopher Nichols; two sisters, Mary Jamerson and Julia O’Connor of Asheville and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Morgan and Ms. Donna Painter officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

  4. Mary and Family, Regardless of age, health, or any other circumstance in life we are never ready to give up our loved ones. I knew Bill, Guy, and one of your older brothers but did not know this sister. You were blessed with a big family. The only comfort at this time in our lives comes from a real Faith in the Sovereignty of God and the manifested concern of caring firends. We are thinking of you at this time!
