Andy Martin Turner, Jr., 87, of 22 Redmond Hill Drive, Candler, died Wednesday, September 20, 2000, in a Henderson County hospital.
Mr. Turner was a native of Spartanburg, SC and was a son of the late Andy Martin Turner, Sr. and the late Bessie Hughes Turner. He was also preceded in death by a son, the Rev. Bennie H. Turner who died in 1996, by a sister, Bessie Reynolds in 1999, a brother, Roy Turner in 1985, and a great-grandchild.
Mr. Turner was a Navy veteran and was a former resident of Michigan where he was a coordinator for Ford Motor Company Engineering. He was an owner and breeder of Boston Terriers and former president of the Boston Terrier Club of Detroit, MI.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Elizabeth Cowan Turner; four sons, Kenney D. Turner of Ypsilanti, MI, William O. Turner of Kingsport, TN, Jeffrey V. Brookshire of Ann Arbor, MI, and David L. Brookshire of Billings, Montana; one brother, Kenney Turner of Asheville; 13 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Revs. Timothy Warren and Robert E. Harris officiating. The Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team will provide military honors.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
Memorials may be made to the Boston Terrier Club of Detroit.
