Alma Crawford Jackson, 87, of 247 Pisgah View Road, Asheville, died Friday, December 30, 2005, at her home.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Madison County to the late Isham H. and Sarah Plemmons. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Welch Crawford in 1961, and A.J. Jackson in 1974; three sisters, Sarah Plemmons, Eunice Bumgardner, and Pearl Cowan; three brothers, Wayne, Denmer, and Carl Plemmons, and two grandchildren, James E. Davis and Lynn D. Cathers.
Mrs. Jackson was a former physician’s assistant at St. Joseph Hospital and and Victoria Urological Associates and was a devoted member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda C. Davis of London, KY and Sonja C. Warren of Asheville; a step-daughter, Janie Jackson Wilbanks and her husband Howard of Mountain Rest, SC; two step-sons, Jerry Jackson and his wife Frances of Seneca, SC and Douglas Jackson of California; three grandchildren, Lisa D. George, Craig Welch Davis and Stacey Carol Galloway; ten great-grandchildren, Linda M. Davis, Nicki L. Davis, Devren Davis, Shelli Davis, Melissa Miracle, Douglas (D.J.) Miracle, Jennifer Walls, Stephanie G. Stoetzel, John C. Davis and Tawni Davis; two great-great-grandchildren, Sierra Stoetzel and Jenna M’Lynn Walls, and a number of devoted nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Edgewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Shelton and her great-grandsons, D.J. Miracle and Devron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and suggest that memorials be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, PO Box 2260, Candler, NC 28715.
