Asheville Butterfly TrailA native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late George Marion and Salley Bell Pressley Hart and wife of the late Walter Eugene Culbertson. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean Culbertson and a grandson, Roy Scott Angel and was the last of twelve children.
She was a retired employee of Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community in the housekeeping department and was a member of the Episcopal faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Angel and her husband Roy of Avery’s Creek; two granddaughters, Teresa Angel and Kim Angel and two great-grandsons, Nathan McCoy and Brandon McCoy, all of Avery’s Creek.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Freddy Johnson. Interment will follow in the Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
shirl, i am so glad i got to meet mom, and i am so sorry we lost her so soon,my heart aches for you and your family and i wish i could be there, but you understand. i;m glad i got to give her the tree she so much enjoyed she was a beautiful lady.and we will always remember her..max.
