A. Wayne Queen, 59, of 12 Hidden Forest Estates, Candler, died Sunday, June 27, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Queen was born in Shelby and was a son of the late Archie and Vera Hamrick Queen.  He
worked with his father at the Asheville Boat and Saw Co., and was a 32nd degree Mason, member and former Master of the John A. Nichols Masonic
Lodge and a member of the Shrine Club Motor Corps.

He  is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith Queen;  three sons, Charles Lee Queen of  Spindale, Tracy Wayne Queen of Atlanta, and Stephen Gill Queen of Chapin, SC;   two step-children, Bari and Biff Barrier of Asheville;  a step-sister, Vicky Cline of Asheville;  a step-brother, Gene Cline of Asheville;  three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby with the Rev. Terry R. Duckworth officiating.

Mr. Queen will be taken to Montmorenci United Methodist Church, Candler, at 6:30 pm Monday where his family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the
arrangements.
