A.V. Rash

A.V. Rash, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Emberlight Sanctuary.

Born in Buncombe Co., A.V. was the son of the late Arthur G. Edwards and the late Helen (Parris) Rash. He was also the step-son of the late Buford Rash. He grew up in Alexander, NC, and moved to Michigan with his parents in his late teens. Following retirement in 2000, he returned to his heart’s home in North Carolina.

A.V. was a kind, caring, friendly, and giving person. He greatly enjoyed antique car meets, car races, the Falcon Club, camping, and taking his kids fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marion; his children, Jeff (Yun) and Mark (Leigh); his step-son, Frank (Lori); his grandchildren, David (Travis), Jonathan, Katie X., Katie (Leo), Cody (Emilie), Conner, Kylie, Luke, and Tim; and five great-grandchildren.

His smiles, laughter, and sense of humor will stay with us forever! He will be deeply missed.

A celebration of A.V.’s life will be held on a later date at Emberlight Sanctuary, Swannanoa, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in A.V.’s memory to Emberlight Sanctuary.
