Glenda Burrell Redmond, 88, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

Born in Belmont, NC, Glenda was a daughter of the late Herman Glenn and Edna O’Daniel Burrell. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jamison Gibson; and sister, Fran Poss.

Mrs. Redmond was a longtime member of Piney Mountain United Methodist Church.

Glenda is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Franklin Lee Redmond, Sr.; daughters, Sherry Gibson (Lee) and Kimberly Redmond; son, Franklin Lee Redmond, Jr.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Mike Leslie will officiate.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  5. Sherry(Lee), Kim and Lee, my heart breaks for all of you and especially Frank, for I know what it is like to loose your mama. Our mamas are always the glue that keeps everyone together and no matter how old or young they are when God calls them home it is never enough time, but know in your heart that God promised you will see her again one day. My prayers goes out to each and every one of you….Just know she is with Jamison now and they are having one more reunion in heaven….
