Helen Montine Seabolt Wooten

July 15, 1928 ~ December 24, 2022
Born in:
Lumpkin County, Georgia
Resided in:
Asheville, North Carolina
Montine Wooten of Asheville died Saturday December 24, 2022 at her home in Givens Estates. A native of Lumpkin County, Georgia, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold P. Wooten, and her parents Ella Mae Duckett Seabolt and Hubert Jason Seabolt, both of Lumpkin County, Georgia.
Montine graduated from high school at the age of fifteen and moved to Atlanta where she attended business school and joined Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. There she met Harold Wooten and they married in 1947. Montine was a bookkeeper, artist, homemaker, and caregiver along with numerous other jobs as the family moved many times within the United States and overseas. She always kept a loving home even during Harold’s remote military assignments. Montine and Harold were members of Dahlonega United Methodist Church before moving to Asheville in 2008, when they joined Skyland United Methodist Church. Montine was active in United Methodist Women and their charitable ministries, as well as being a consummate giver of her time in other volunteer capacities. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The flowers she grew to beautify our souls, the pictures she painted to please our eyes, and the foods she cooked to nourish our bodies will always be cherished.
Surviving are her two sons Richard M. Wooten and his wife Toni of Buncombe County, and Scott A. Wooten and his wife Mary of Darien, Georgia; granddaughters Jennifer Ierardi (Drew) and Alexandra Wooten, one step-grandson Duncan Mabry (Marianne), two great grandsons Julian and Silas Ierardi, and one step-great granddaughter Madeline Mabry.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a cancer charity of your choice, Habitat for Humanity or Manna Food Bank.

Love you Mom! You will always be loved and missed.
I have wonderful memories from the time she was at Dahlonega United Methodist Church. We have exchanged Christmas cards since she left including this past one. My condolences to the family.
