Fletcher- Doris Ellen Hall Gasperson, 80, of Fletcher, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Universal Healthcare in Fletcher.

A native of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Estes Hall. Doris was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Harry Gasperson, who died in 2015.

Doris is survived by her two sons, David Gasperson (Carolyn) of Millspring, NC and Dennis Gasperson (Franci) of Waterloo, SC; one sister, JoAnn Baker of Fletcher; three granddaughters, Lyndsey Weinke (David) of Arden, Shannon Sword (Jesse) of Arden and Taylor Gasperson (Colby Clayton) of Brevard as well as seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Jackson and Sophie Sword, Addison and Cooper Clayton and Abby and Ella Weinke.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

  4. Dennis and David, So sorry to hear about your Mom. I cannot tell you how many times over the years I have bragged on her wonderful cooking. I wish I had learned from her way back when. She was a hoot to work with and I can’t help to smile when I think about her and your Dad was a sweetheart and probably one of the hardest working people I knew. My prayers are with you.
