William Clark "Bill" Nesbitt, 64, of Fairview, went to be with his heavenly father the evening of Saturday, January 17, 2009, while surrounded by his loving family. A native of Buncombe Co., he was born February 18, 1944, to the late Andrew Roscoe and Elizabeth Wright Nesbitt. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Katherine Lytle, Floyd Nesbitt, Pauline Latham, Andy Nesbitt, Tom Nesbitt, Sam Nesbitt, Mary Sluder, Betty LaRouche, and Sara Benson. Mr. Nesbitt was a member of Nesbitt's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was the owner of William C. Nesbitt Masonry, LR Vending and Nesbitt's Trackhoe. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force. Was an avid fisherman and held memberships in Fairview Bass Masters and Fairview Bass -n- Buddies. He loved to fish and to garden and shared many a bounty with his neighbors and friends. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Glenda Annette Newman Nesbitt; two daughters, Kimberley Nesbitt Dorato and her husband Keith, and Christine Nesbitt Lopez; three grandchildren, Ryan Sayles, Ashelee Lopez and Caleb Midgett; one brother, David Nesbitt, and five sisters, Nannie Randolph, Louise Bishop, Lettie Gentle, Ruby Swink and Barbara Banks. The funeral will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19th in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, with the Revs. Robert Harris and Chester Owenby officiating. The family will receive friends that evening, immediately following the service at the funeral home. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20th at Nesbitt's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

MORE THAN A FRIEND:When i first met Bill Nesbitt i was working on laying brick and block years earlier but bill made a mason out of me after i asked him to make me like him’ I was so proud to work along side him and we were a goo team.Iwas his son-in-law’but he treated me as if i was his son.We bowled together growed gardens laughed together and just plain had a good time together and this is what i will miss the most of the BILL NESBITT I TRULY LOVED SO MUCH KENT SAYLES
