Billy (48) of Lohman, Missouri transitioned to THE LORD on September 2, 2019 with his parents, Nancy Shelton and William Connors, Sr. by his side at the River City Living Center in Jefferson, Missouri.
Billy was born October 14, 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio and spent most of his youth in Weaverville, North Carolina. He graduated from North Buncombe High School and went to work with his Father, William, who introduced him to the trade of becoming a Glazier. The next phase of his life led him back to Cleveland and then to Tennessee, where he joined H the local IUPAT Union there and traveling the Eastern United States, sometimes with his son, Cory, leaving an imprint of his meticulous work on many commercial buildings. His final destination took him to Jefferson, Missouri, joining local 1185. He loved his lifelong profession and took great pride in all his work.
In his spare time, Billy had become an avid hunter and fisherman, going on numerous hunting and fishing trips with his father, William and son, Cory.
His hobbies included all types of cars. He loved going to Nascar races and the Drag Strip, and when in Missouri he teamed up with his step father, Jim Shelton, building all sorts of antique, and drag machines.
The last year of Billy’s life, his son Cory, presented him with his first grandson, Carter. There was not a minute that went by that Billy was bragging about little Carter, “the apple of his eye.” Billy was a very loving caring and compassionate man who valued his many friendships.
Survivors include his mother and step father, Nancy and Jim Shelton of Lohman, Missouri; his father, William Francis Connors, Sr. of Sarasota, Florida; two children, Cory Connors and Brett Hoilman of Burnsville, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Carter Connors and Emerson Hoilman both of Burnsville; paternal grandmother, Emily Olesh of Asheville, NC, and maternal grandmother, Florence Cales of Republic, Pennsylvania.
Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eugene Connors and maternal grandfather, Carl Cales.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home.
