Wilburn Franklin Sharpe, 84, of Leicester, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at The Brian Center.
A native of Buncombe Co., Wilburn was a son of the late Willie and Renie King Sharpe. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Faithie "Juanita" Sharpe, and his brother, William Sharpe.
Surviving are his daughters, Donna Sanders (Kenneth) and Anita Henry (Kenneth); grandchildren, Jason Sanders (Malinda), Jeremy Sanders (Amanda), Samuel "Caleb" Henry (Cara), and Joshua "Ethan" Henry; great-grandchildren, Colton, Avery, Ian, Breeanne, Brenna, and Peyton; sisters, Pauline Penland and Gerelene Hodge; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Sharpe will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, at Beulah Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ricky Wolfe, Matthew Sams, and Tom Dorsey officiating. Interment will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.

So sorry for your loss. Wilburn was a good man. I have many fond memories of him and Juanita from my youth. Most of those memories centered around Papaw and Granny Meadows home in the Bridge Cove. Donna and Anita, y’all are in my prayers. Love y’all.
