Wanda Jean Wilson Parker, born February 21, 1928 in Lawrence County Tennessee died November 8, 2012 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville. She is survived by her husband Charles Walton Parker, Sr. of Asheville; her son Charles Walton Parker, Jr., also of Asheville; her daughter Debra Parker Stevens and husband Richard of Boone; a sister, Valorie Fortenberry of Panama City, FL; a brother, George Wilson and wife Claudia of Maysville, GA ; grandchildren, Brent, Parker, Austin, Lauren and Miranda; and great grandchildren, Bryan and Malyla. Mrs. Parker, along with her husband, owned and operated Parker Oil Company in Asheville from 1964 until she sold the business and retired in 2006. At the request of Mrs. Parker no service will be held. Memorials may be sent to Appalachian Women's Fund, P. O. Box 1838, Boone, NC 28607 or Biltmore Baptist Church, 35 Clayton Rd., Arden, NC 28704.
