Wanda (Chubby) Dolores Justice Hunnicutt went to her heavenly home on October 15, 2022 after an extended illness.
She was born in Asheville, NC, to Bernice and Howard Justice on April 18, 1929. She was preceded in death, other than her parents, by her loving husband, Cecil Hunnicutt and siblings, Eugene B. Reams and Lorraine J. Trantham. Survivors include her son, Robert Hunnicutt (Karen), and daughter, Cindy H. Parker (Jeff); four grandchildren, Natalie and Sterling Parker, Travis (Kayla) and Clint Hunnicutt; special friends, Lou Creasman and George Fox and a very special niece, Audrey H. Metcalf and a host of nieces and nephews.
Wanda was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and until her illness an active member of Keenagers. She enjoyed her fellowship with the group and was fondly known as the Cake Lady. She genuinely loved her church family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tom Rennard and staff for the many years of excellent care.
Graveside services will be held at Bethesda UMC Cemetery at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022.
In lieu of flowers a donation to your favorite charity will be appreciated. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.

Cindy and Robert , my prayers are with you both and your families. God bless you all…
Cindy and Robert, I’m so sorry for your loss. There are no words to say when you lose your mom. Your mother was always so sweet and kind. Glad we are family. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Your mother was a special lady and a wonderful friend. We enjoyed her company when we went to Biltmore. She will be missed so much. I know she is in heaven and having a wonderful reunion. We love her so much.
Love and prayers to all.

Dear family,
I am deeply saddened by the grief that you are feeling.
Knowing of God’s love for you, continue looking to him when ” he will wipe all tears from our eyes, death, pain, and suffering will be no more. ” – Revelation 21:3,4
He says death is an ” enemy that will be brought to nothing. – 1 Corinthians 15:26
How comforting to know that this will be a thing of the past and through Christ Jesus a resurrection for our loved ones.
