Wade Roy Smith, 45, passed away on May 19, 2020.

An Asheville native, Wade was the son of Roy Andrew and Brenda “Sue” Randall Smith.

Wade formerly worked at Blue Ridge Metals Corp. He was a jack-of-all-trades, particularly small engine repair. He was a longtime member of Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughters, Kayla Smith and Hannah Smith; and sisters, Kimberly Ford and Deanna Gunter.

The graveside service for Mr. Smith will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Zach Turner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Church, c/o Brenda Smith, 3 Weaver Smith Dr., Candler, NC 28715.

  3. I am so deeply saddened by this. It still don’t seem real. You will be missed by many. Together we brought 2 beautiful healthy baby girls into the world. We use to say the best parts of us.   27. I love and miss you so much my lil bro, bro. I used to hover over you like a mother hen afraid something may happen to you. You would hide from me and laugh when I couldn’t find you. You were always picking on me and I loved it. You made me laugh so much! You were so funny and had the kindest heart.     We are so sorry for your loss. Wade was a helpful friend with a caring heart and huge smile. He knew so much about so many things. We especially liked talking with him about plants and hearing about how life was in Beaverdam for him growing up, as he explored the mountains and creeks. One special moment we had with him, Lena was signing him a happy birthday song a year or two ago and he was so touched he shed a little tear and then gave a hearty laugh. We will miss Wade. May you be free and full of peace.

  44. Sorry to hear of my buddy wades passing. Me and wade shared a many a day just hanging out running up and down Beaverdam creek seeing what we could find to catch messing with his chickens riding my motorcycle having tomato wars over in bobbies field then having to jump in the creek to wash off because it burnt the memory that sticks with me though is we had a rabbit hemmed up in a culvert in his driveway and came up with a brilliant idea of covering the end with a plastic bag where we could catch it and scaring it from the other end it worked but that rabbit run threw that bag like he won a marathon but it was an adventure and fun man we had funny thanks for the memories brother we’ll run threw the fields again soon 😞😞 I’ll be thinking of you all Roy sue dianna and Kim y’all were like a second family to me as a boy so sorry gone way to soon 🙏🙏🙏🙏
